As a key Technical Manager, your key purpose is to be our Green Investment Group’s expert on grid connection aspects, ensuring projects obtain the grid connection capacity during development as well as optimising the overall grid connection solution for construction.

This central position requires a strong technical and commercial profile with a successful track record of managing complex construction projects covering the entire project lifecycle.

As a Technical Manager will work closely with our Green Investment Group’s joint venture development partners on the development and construction of renewable energy projects in Europe. 

In addition, your key responsibilities will include:

- managing and developing innovative grid connection strategies
- maintaining relationships with various grid stakeholders
- screening of grid connections for new development and preparation of feasibility studies and initial designs
- preparing grid connect applications and overseeing process to grid connect agreements
- preparing single-line diagrams and initial electrical diagrams for early-stage development projects
- running tenders for contestable work
- reviewing challenging solutions and driving efficiencies 
- coordinating with in-hour commissioning Engineers to ensure successful delivering of commissioning projects 
- providing general technical support on renewable energy projects.
 

The role is based in London and will require travel throughout Europe to sites and development partner’s offices.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of 10 + years in a consultancy role, developer or grid operator and with managing grid connection processes for renewable energy projects. You’ll also have a strong understanding of distribution and transmission systems, regulation, evolution and markets ideally for different countries in Europe including the UK, Spain and Italy. You’ll also have a strong track record leading and managing complex projects with geographically diverse stakeholders, and lastly a degree or high level of qualification in electrical engineering and commercial flair.

Other desirable skills include power load flow modelling capabilities, experience in working internationally or in other sectors in which the Green Investment Group invests, and  fluency in spoken and written English with Spanish or Italian language skills being highly favourable.
