Join as a Java developer to play an important role within a diverse and innovative team.

Execution services are looking for systems engineers and developers to build and extend our high-performance systems that handle thousands of prices per second and handle billions in turnover a day.  Our systems support the internal business execute in the market as well as support our clients with electronic pricing.  These systems support the back-end pricing and order management functions all the way through to public cloud hosted trading websites and APIs.

You will work closely with the trading businesses and will need to be able to communicate effectively. Whilst not essential, an understanding of financial concepts will be highly regarded. This is a great opportunity for a developer with strong technical and communication skills to deliver in a challenging and dynamic environment.

At Macquarie we support our teams to explore and grow through experimentation, hackathons, learning and community involvement. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation to deliver key business capabilities in an exciting new way.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver in-house applications including back and front ends.
  • Deliver these in an Agile environment with an internationally distributed team.
  • Work within the DevOps team supporting our users and driving continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in a selection from the following:

  • Java application development including use of multi-threading and concurrency.
  • C# and UI knowledge
  • JavaScript web application development including Angular for SQL databases
  • RESTful service design; QA Testing
  • Experience with AWS
  • Financial industry experience
  • Degree in Computer Science
