What is the purpose of this role?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Group Accounts Payable Finance team, based in our Head Office in Oxford.

Working in the Vendor Relationship team within the Accounts Payable department you would be responsible for managing the supplier relationships and maintaining a robust supply chain. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced Accounts Payable environment, working on multiple ledgers with a wide spread vendor population.

What will this role involve?

  • Providing 2nd tier query resolution with vendors
  • Building and fostering relationships with vendors
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure integrity of nominated accounts
  • Resolution of invoice and vendor queries, via email and phone
  • Resolution of queries from Accounts Receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Other transactional support
  • Communication with contracts, providing reports on held/disputed invoices
  • Supporting Payment team to ensure regular payments met

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a service driven environment, where you have been required to respond to queries and resolve problems
  • Strong IT skills including Excel capable of performing Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Ability to take ownership of a task and see it through to completion
  • Ability to think ahead, plan work and meet deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good team player, self-motivated and driven
  • Strong customer service focus
  • SAP knowledge (or similar financial package) would be an advantage
