Position Summary

Purpose of role:
Category management for the Accessories portfolio ensuring meeting the Management plan and P&L. Determining the Objectives, goals, strategies & measures for the category. Responsibility for AP2, commercial management, proposition development, sell-in activity, ranging management, go-to-market launch readiness, commercial sales support and in-life/end-of-life product life cycle management. Make decisions that impact directly on business goals whilst utilising analysis and interpretation skills to drive commercial value from data.

From launch, through optimisation by model and by account, on to end of life and transition to new models, your analysis and decisions will ultimately increase our market share. Achievements in the role, are recognised against clear KPIs, and will be visible within Samsung at the highest levels, opening up opportunities to drive the business

 

Role and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:-

Commercial Management

  • Management Plan responsibility 
  • P&L (Profit & Loss) Category management for Accessories
  • AP2 Forecasting accountability
  • OGSM (Objective/Goals/Strategy/Measures) planning for products to drive commercial strategy
  • Guide, inform and motivate the sales team
  • Manage the device roadmap on a day–to–day basis for named accounts and channels
  • Analyse and understand the market, business and customer requirements to deliver the right product together with proposition
  • Work with cross functional account teams to ensure customer/channel specific requirements, insights and opportunities are addressed

 

 

Product/Portfolio Management

 

  • Act as a real thought leader based on strategic insight and with an eye for detail
  • Monitor performance and optimise PSI (Purchase/Sales/Loss) planning to secure availability and manage inventory risk
  • Proactively lifecycle manage the IM Accessory product portfolio
  • Analyse the market, competitors, consumers and sales performance
  • In charge of product sell-in and ranging across named accounts and channels
  • Shaping the success and the future of the products in the responsible accounts
  • Support on press events and interviews being the ambassador for launches
  • Close co-operation with internal divisions such as, UK Account teams, Marketing, Supply Chain, Technical Product Engineering team, ETO and EHQ
  • Support Head of Product Management as a Product Expert making strategic recommendations and addressing any challenges and opportunities put forward.

 

 

Promotion Management

 

  • Develop strong product propositions combining hardware and non-hardware
  • Strong understanding of the competitor landscape and act according to competitor movements
  • Identify any tactical business development opportunities to drive short – medium term volume objectives
  • Manage Value-Add promotion including costing, forecasting and communicating externally/internally

 

 

 

 

Ad Hoc

 

  • Deputise for Head of Product Management if/when required.

To be successful in this role you ideally have:

 

 

 

Essential Hard Skills Required

 

  • Commercial Product Management Experience
  • Proposition development & execution experience
  • Product Lifecycle management experience with technical aptitude
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Good skills in Microsoft office packages
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong numeracy/commercial acumen
