Job Details

Bromley Healthcare is a community interest company providing a wide range of services including community nursing services such as district nursing, health visiting to specialist nurses, as well as therapy services for children, young people and adults. Being born from NHS Bromley’s community provider unit we have been providing community services to the people of Bromley for many years and we have a wealth of experience.

Bromley Healthcare is a great place to work. The unique way we deliver services and offer everyone who works here a voice, means that your career with us will be rewarding. Social Enterprises are a fairly new and exciting way to deliver healthcare, offering many of the traditional advantages of the NHS (such as excellent training and development) with the freedom for innovation by being able to reinvest any surpluses we make into the community.

Priority consideration will be given to Bromley Healthcare staff formally identified as being at risk.

Contraception Nurse Specialist

Band 6 £30,401 - £37,267 + HCAS £4,560-£4,743 pa pro rata

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 9 months

Please be aware that any appointment towards the middle or upper end of this salary range will be subject to experience and particularly any current relevant NHS experience and banding.

Excellent benefits package available including various pension schemes, discounted gym membership, cycle to work scheme, discounted electronics, opportunity to apply for low interest personal loans and an excellent lease car scheme.

Bromley Healthcare CIC is an NHS community provider and part of the NHS family.

But we are a little different; we like to think that we stand out from typical NHS organisations as Bromley Healthcare CIC is actually a co-owned social enterprise, co-owned by its employees. This means that our staff remain on NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions and are members of the NHS pension scheme (providing you are eligible), if not we can offer the Nest or Scottish Widows pension schemes.

What difference does this make?

Because our Nurses, therapists and support staff co-own Bromley Healthcare CIC and have a real say in how our services are run, this has created a greater sense of ownership, responsibility & motivation among our staff which in turn creates better quality for our patients & families.

If you are keen to work for a dynamic, forward thinking but different type of NHS employer then Bromley Healthcare could be for you!

Bromley Healthcare is the main provider of community based Sexual Health services in Bromley. Sexual Health Bromley encompasses the Contraception & Reproductive Health service, Community Outreach service, HIV Nursing, LGBT youth support group and online testing services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated band 6 Nurse to work within our Contraception & Reproductive Health team. Ideally you will already have some experience of working at band 6.

The service is based over 5 locations across Bromley, and you would be expected to work across these sites including alternate Saturdays and some evening work.

We are looking for a Contraception Nurse Specialist (ideally with the NFSRH Dip) to cover Maternity Leave with our team from July 2109 (9-12 months cover required).

The Bromley Contraception team (part of Sexual Health Bromley) offer busy walk-in Contraception clinics across the Borough of Bromley and our service details can be found on our website.

We are a small team of supportive and friendly nurses working autonomously often without direct Dr supervision so you will need to be a confident and competent practitioner.  You will attend regular team meetings and have the support of the Lead Doctor for Contraception in Bromley for teaching/CPD.

We offer patients all aspects of Contraception care and you will be used to dealing with highly complex patients, working to PGD's and ideally be an implant fitter/remover.

20 hours per week across different sites:

Potential hours (these are subject to change)

Monday 09:15-13:30 at Beckenham Beacon walk-in

Wednesday 14:45-19:30 Mottingham clinic walk-in

Thursday 15:00-20.00 Orpington Clinic walk-in

Friday 08:45-13:00 Beckenham clinic walk-in

Saturdays 11:00-15:30 Phoenix Centre Young peoples walk-in

Interviews to be held in June
