About the role
Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Specialist Support Worker in Bristol.

This is a new and exciting role working with young people with learning difficulties and autism that may display behaviours that challenge, who are moving in to their first home. We are looking for individuals who will challenge stereotypes and who feel passionately about the rights of vulnerable young people. You will be helping our young people to have an ordinary life and do extraordinary things.

As a Waking Nights Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life that they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement with assist individuals to run their own home, budgeting, menu planning, cooking, do the weekly shop or visit local amenities. You will aid the individuals to build a network of friendships to prevent them being isolated and to gain a sense of self-esteem. You will support with education, work and social opportunities providing individuals with the means to build strong community links for a purposeful and fulfilled life of their choosing. As a Waking Nights Support Worker you will need to be flexible in your approach. Support may be delivered in the individual’s home or in the community. The hours of support may vary dependent on the individual’s choice of activities.

About you
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for creative individuals who are supportive and have a can do attitude.

Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins; we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.
