About the role
Location: West Kempton, MK42 7FY
Salary: £8.30 per hour
Working Hours: 8 hours per day over 7 day on a rota – 40 hours per week
(Full and Part Time Hours available)
To provide a high quality, infection free laundry service. To ensure that the laundry is maintained in a hygienic, clean and safe standard. To provide clean, well presented and maintained linen to residents and other departments
Handle all laundry in line with operating procedures keeping clean and dirty separate.
Follow wash charts when processing laundry in washing machines. Check garment labels when drying and ironing items.
Stock linen cupboards and ensure they are organised. Report damaged linen or clothing to the Home Manager and remove from circulation.
Iron and finish clothing, repair if needed and return to their bedrooms ensuring items are hung or folded neatly.
In conjunction with care staff, label new residents garments.
Where personal items are not labelled make every effort to trace the owner and report to the Home Manager, making note on the appropriate laundry form.
Report the condition of residents clothing to the Home Manager to enable replacements to be purchased by the next of kin.
Report poor wash results to the Home Manager.
Talk to residents on a daily basis, taking feedback and making necessary changes.

Awareness of care home regulators and their requirements
Multi-tasker
Hotel housekeeping experience – desirable
