Male Support Worker/Buddy
Part-Time
8 hours per week over 3 shifts – working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and Saturdays 12 noon to 4.00pm
Pay: £15 – £16 per hourOrpington

About the role
To provide high quality support to our client, who is a male in his teens with cerebral palsy, ADHD and ODD.
The role includes providing support to facilitate his development and independence.
You will be working closely with the case manager and other professions to provide support. You will be required to write up notes following each visit, for which additional payment will be made.
With training and guidance, you will assist with developing skills to help with communication and independence both with friends and family as well as in the wider community. This is a permanent appointment, although being part-time this will be ideally suited to those who may already work, potentially in schools or similar environments, and want some regular additional work within the care sector, or feel they are able to support our client with his development.
Location
The client’s home is in Orpington, but he will require you to be able to accompany him on outings and activities as part of the role. Having your own transport is not essential but would be desirable. He also has his own Motability vehicle and you will need to be aged 25 or over to be able to drive this.

About you
* Some experience of care/rehabilitation work is essential
* Experience of working with adults or young people with disabilities preferable.
* Punctual, reliable and trustworthy with a responsible attitude
* Confident in working with a client in both home and community settings
* Ability and willingness to learn new skills
* Patient and calm with a good sense of humour
* A good communicator who is professional and able to establish and maintain effective relationships
* Ideal opportunity for professional development alongside other studies or work
Desirable
* NVQ or equivalent in care
* IT skills
* Driver
