We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join the Build Department in our South West region. This role will be based at Millborne Port and will report to the Site Manager.

This includes the management of the build programme from construction through to customer handover and remediation.

The role:

To assist and deputise for the Site Manager with focus on build programme, site organisation and presentation, health and safety, quality control and customer service.

As Assistant Site Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist with the preparation of the master build programme and review and revise in line with budget requirements
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure construction methods and timescales are correct taking appropriate action in the event of non-compliance
  • Ensure just in time materials flow to the trades checking for damage and ensuring quality standards are met
  • In conjunction with the Site Manager, complete PPQA checklists and return to Regional Office on a weekly basis
  • Hold daily team meetings with the site team to prioritise workloads and weekly meetings with subcontractors
  • Inspect and snag all plots prior to each key stage inspection carried out by the NHBC
  • Ensure all plots have a customer care pass before obtaining CML prior to legal completion
  • Conduct preoccupation checks prior to handover including access, parking, street lighting and signage
  • Deliver home demonstrations to customers and action remedial actions raised
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s health and safety and environmental policies and procedures and that all staff, subcontractors and visitors to the site are appropriately inducted
  • Assist the Site Manager in ensuring traffic management and site strategy plans are in place and reviewed as required
  • In the absence of the Site Manager, assess the site prior to the start of the working day, and periodically, responding to emergencies and addressing areas of risk
  • Recruit, manage and develop site employees

About you:

  • Educated to GCSE/GCE standard in Maths & English
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Previous experience working for a residential house builder
  • Experience in one of carpentry, bricklaying, electrics, dry lining, plastering
  • Painting and decorating
  • Team player capable of implementing change and using own initiative
  • Ability to manage conflict, complaints and difficult situations
  • Excellent organisational skills
