We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to work at an established service in Bury St Edmunds.

At the service we have two supported living houses where there are 7 males who lived together (4 in one house and 3 in another).

Our Support Workers get involved in daily tasks and activities such as swimming, bowling, visiting day centres, going for long walks, cooking, arts and crafts and dancing.

You will encourage and promote the people we support to lead the life they choose. We focus on person centred support, tailored to individual`s needs.

Successful Support Workers will work across both services and there are different levels of personal care involved across the 2 houses and you will be expected to carry out personal care needs within the role.

Flexibility is essential to work as a Support Worker and the rota will be completed 4-5 weeks in advance, enabling you to plan around your shifts. We are able to offer full time, part time or relief contracts.

Shifts will include, but not limited to, 8am - 4pm, 4pm - 10pm. There will be sleeps required at one of the houses which are from 10pm - 7am. Shifts can be explained in more detail at interviews stage. The role will also include 2 out of 3 weekends (2 on, 1 off)

You will find it extremely rewarding to see the people we support achieve goals, overcome challenges and enjoy their lives by accessing the social activities and day trips they choose.

Our Support Workers need to have a calm nature, be encouraging and above all you need to be patient. You will always be looking out for the safety of the people we support, when out and about, this is essential.
