12 month fixed term contract

We are looking to appoint a Community Liaison Manager to engage with the Client, the Local Authority, community stakeholders and supply chain to ensure that all outward facing aspects of Lendlease are represented to the highest possible standards. This includes:

  • Meeting and exceeding social sustainability targets set out by the Section 106 Agreement and/or the Employers Requirements;
  • Ensuring that the main contractor fully engages with the principles of the Considerate Contractors Scheme and attains an award winning score;
  • Engaging with the Local Authority, client, local residents and community groups to drive initiatives and promote Lendlease in the area;
  • Creating initiatives, leading engagement and communication with the local community to become the face of Lendlease in the community; (in conjunction with comms)

The Community Liaison Manager is expected to act as the eyes and ears of Lendlease Construction on the ground, to feedback relevant local information to the team and to ensure that local residents and impacted stakeholders are kept well informed of site activities. You will work most closely with the Construction Team and Trade Contractors on each project.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of community communications across all facets of the development.
  • Support project teams to achieve employment, skills and training targets/commitments and associated community requirements
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in the community, adjacent to the development and in the wider opportunity area.
  • Prepare a Community Development Plan which supports the project deliverables and adapt as necessary during project progression.
  • Establish awareness-raising opportunities to promote community development initiatives
  • Attendance at external client/community facing meetings
  • Process, record and communicate accordingly observations, queries, enquiries and complaints from stakeholders/community groups

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Previous experience in social responsibility / employment (back to work schemes) or youth charity
  • Confidence in dealing with the public and various stakeholders
  • Organised, systematic and takes pride in work
  • Good at building and maintaining relationships
  • Writing and delivering presentations to a large groups
  • Ability to spot / target new opportunities
  • A good problem-solver with the ability to come up with creative solutions
  • This role requires an ability to be flexible and innovative in formulating plans and initiatives
  • Previous experience in a similar job role
  • Experience in designing and conducting community development and liaison activities
  • An understanding of the property and construction industries
  • Experience in running community consultation programmes
  • Media management (in conjunction with corporate PR Manager and Communications Manager)
  • A degree in Sustainability, Public Engagement or Customer Services
