If so, we are looking for a dedicated Purchase to Pay Compliance Manager to join us at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and we’d love to hear from you. 

In this brand new role, we will look to you to oversee and manage our purchase to pay function (P2P) to ensure all internal processes and procedures are followed correctly and our suppliers are paid on time. 

As our subject matter expert, you will be a source of advice and guidance to a variety of non-finance colleagues at different levels and the main liaison with Shared Services on all P2P matters. 

This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires resilience, effective communication skills and strong stakeholder management. This is a fantastic opportunity to build upon your existing finance and P2P knowledge and, if you do not already hold CCAB qualifications but have the required experience, we will support you to gain professional qualifications and achieve your career goals. 

Role responsibilities 

Your duties will include: 

• managing the P2P team, overseeing their work and offering training and support 

• providing support and training to stakeholders within the business on P2P processes and procedures 

• working closely with Shared Services and the wider business to deal with and manage complaints and queries 

• ensuring Finance and Shared Services processes are being consistently followed to provide assurance on compliance 

• monitoring prompt payment performance and work to ensure MCA targets are met 

• managing the process of Control of Advances and work towards them being paid back within one month 

• leading and managing the Government Procurement card process, reconciling and reallocating the account and ensuring timely payment of invoices

About you 

You come from a finance background with experience of P2P, ERP and accounting systems, and experience using Excel and Word for finance tasks. It would be great if you were part of fully CCAB qualified, but if not you must be willing to undertake professional training to enhance your knowledge. 

You will be resilient, able to work under pressure, deliver to deadlines and manage multiple competing tasks as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strive to provide the best customer service for colleagues across the business. You will be able to talk finance with non-financial colleagues, relay information to senior stakeholders clearly and concisely, and have the confidence and authority to ensure processes and procedures are followed correctly and take a proactive approach to resolving issues.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom working to prevent the loss of lives at sea and is responsible for implementing British and international maritime law and safety policy. It is also responsible for land based search and rescue helicopter operations from 2015.
