We’re looking for someone with a bright attitude who can deliver the best service to each of our customers. You will need to have energy and the desire to solve problems creatively and efficiently, working with pace and demonstrating excellent attention to detail in order to meet high service standards.

The role

You’ll be a member of our Business Development team, working closely with colleagues across the business, based in the UK and globally. Reporting directly to our VP of Business Development and supported by a team of payment and Fintech experts.

No day is ever the same, you’ll quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of everything that goes into delivering the McLEAR Payment Ring and you’ll be looked to as someone who understands what our customers want and how to deliver it.

Daily tasks will include, but not be limited to:

  • Work with the sales team to Identify new sales opportunities in line with the sales strategy plan
  • Account management: manage the ongoing commercial day to day relationships with customers including reporting, analysis, and any up-sale opportunities.
  • Provide support for clients by learning about and satisfying their needs
  • Creating terms sheets, works orders, P&L analysis and general reports to support the sales/commercial team.
  • Support preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • As and when required, in country and International travel
  • Shared responsibility for reaching the sale budget
  • Use of social media for individual and company research.
  • Cold contacting potential clients via phone, email or face to face
  • Attend trade events - Follow up and contact all leads appropriately and timely
  • Schedule face to face meetings with customers as and when required
  • Research & update client database/list as needed
  • Updating ALL contacts & ongoing conversations to temp excel CRM
  • Provide support as needed on market & sales & projects & events & meetings
  • Ensure central reporting archive (Dropbox) database is kept up-to-date
  • Respond to enquires via the McLEAR website, including any research as and when required as and when required.
  • Research & meeting prep companies, industry and clients ahead of meetings
  • Build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts, clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate

  • Previous experience in a customer facing, business development or a sales type role is essential.
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales channels and outlets.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations and documents by studying the type of sales opportunity to be addressed.
  • Works with BD colleagues and the commercial director to submit commercial proposals and orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending internal meetings, training sessions, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining customer contact details, meeting minutes, previous communications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Researches client base to find new types of customer and sales opportunities.
  • Schedules appointments and meetings as necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, flawless written English is essential
  • Must be confident and highly proficient in using computer systems
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work under own initiate, using the systems in place to maintain standards
  • Will enjoy meeting targets and resolving issues
  • Will be organised, diligent and have excellent attention to detail
  • Will enjoy working with people, solving a diverse range of enquiries
  • Will be happy to step outside of their daily tasks and ‘pitch in’ with new projects

The Role

  • 3 days/week based in our Soho office.
  • Salary £20 p/h
  • 6 Month Probation Period
