We’re currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an eight year old boy with an acquired brain injury and are seeking a Paediatric Support Worker to work part time, Monday – Friday, 15:00 – 18:30.
This is a huge opportunity to help a deserving young person with his day-to-day needs and help him become a well-rounded and capable adult. You’ll have the chance to take part in training and will be provided with plenty of support to ensure you can make a success of your role.
This role can provide valuable experience for people considering Allied Health Professional Careers.
Your Role
As a Paediatric Support Worker, you will work with this fun-loving, energetic young man on an after-school basis to support his therapy programme.
The young man attends school four days per week and you will attend the family home between 15:00 and 18:30, Monday - Friday to help out with therapy, activities and the key stage one curriculum.
You will be involved in the delivery of therapy programmes from Physio and Occupational Therapy and receive specific training from therapists.
Specifically, you will:
- Liaise with a dedicated Case Manager who will support you and arrange training
- Work directly for the service user whose family are the employers
- Deliver superb support to the family and the service user
- Help with activities, therapy and schoolwork
About You
To be considered as a Paediatric Support Worker, you will need:
- A full, valid driving licence
- To be confident playing and interacting with children of a similar age to our client
- Plenty of enthusiasm
An understanding of acquired brain injury, or the willingness to learn about this topic, would be advantageous your application.
Our client is passionate about animals and sports, so it would be highly beneficial if you shared these interests.
