South Norfolk Council has two exciting opportunities for Strategic Management Accountant team members to join us based in Long Stratton/Norwich.  You will join us on a full time fixed term basis of 6 months. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £50,735 - £53,958 per annum. Can you speak the numbers game? Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council have embarked on an exciting and ambitious new journey towards collaborative working which will culminate in the establishment of a single paid officer team supporting two autonomous Councils. As the Strategic Management Accountant, you will work across both Councils to inform and devise a consistent approach for management reporting. What you could be part of… As part of this role you will align the financial strategies, assisting with setting the budgets for 2020/21 and the medium-term financial plans. You will be actively working with the Finance Team, Directors and Senior Managers to improve key financial and reporting processes to support business decisions and the Councils’ Strategies. Key responsibilities of our Strategic Management Accountant: - Provide technical and strategic financial advice and expertise to members, managers and budget holders - Co-ordinate in the production of the Medium-Term Financial Strategies and Plan and annual budget - Undertake project work as required; including researching and producing business cases, capital and revenue estimates, costings, bids for external funding etc. What we’re looking for in our Strategic Management Accountant: CCAB Qualified Accountant with a ddemonstrable track record of working in local government finance. We are looking for someone with up to date and extensive knowledge of local government finance codes of practice, regulatory framework, legislation and systems. Along with experience of developing 3-year capital and revenue budgets.
