An exciting, high profile opportunity for a talented, motivated professional to make a real national difference for the care and support of people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and behaviours that challenge.
The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking to recruit talented, dynamic professionals to lead and shape the collaborative approach in implementing Transforming Care and systems reform. The role is home-based but will involve travel to different regions/areas/meetings.
Successful candidates will provide support to local authority colleagues within Transforming Care Partnerships (TCPs). They will bring to the role the perspective and expertise of local government and social care commissioning/procurement., including roles, structures and relationships.
You will work in partnership with NHS England, Skills for Care and Health Education England regional leads to support TCPs in their role to transform services and support for people. This is an important time for care and support services in bringing about change to enable Individuals and their families to choose from an increased range of community-based care and support solutions available in their local area, and have increased control (e.g. through personal budgets, ISFs etc.); support and solutions are based on people’s needs and aspirations, alongside individual and community assets.
The role will require substantial senior level experience of social care, especially within learning disabilities and Autism services.
You will need to be very skilled at building and maintaining strategic relationships and creating innovative solutions to complex issues.
Co-production and person centred approaches to assist commissioners, providers and operational teams to support individuals and their families collaboratively, will be pivotal in working with councils and partners to realise the programme ambitions.
