At Cheney School we have a well-established, vibrant and successful Humanities Department where Business is one of our most popular Humanities subjects which is taught at GCSE and Advanced level. Our vacancy is for a Business Studies teacher able to teach on the range of courses we offer.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, ambitious and innovative teacher to join a successful and progressive Humanities Faculty. We are a strong team which values working with young people and promoting students’ lasting enthusiasm Humanities subjects. We would welcome a team player who is keen to work and plan collaboratively and contribute to a strong culture of sharing best practice, resources and ideas. This exciting post offers part-time Business and/or Economics teaching across KS4-5, with a possible full time post for a successful candidate with History/RE across KS3-5.

Business and Economics at Cheney School are valued subjects and the need for more teaching is due to increasing numbers. We offer the Edexcel Business GCSE and the AQA Economics A Level.

We will need you to:

  • Be passionate about helping students make excellent progress and reach their potential;
  • Have a proven track record as an outstanding and creative practitioner;
  • Have the desire and enthusiasm to play an active and collaborative role in contributing to a strong culture of sharing best practice, resources and ideas;
  • Demonstrate the talent, interpersonal and leadership skills required to inspire and motivate students.

Salary will be on the Teacher Main Scale or Upper Pay scale, depending on experience + TLR for additional duties. With NQTs accelerated to M2/ £25,593, subject to successful professional review.
