£30,660 per annum for 36 hours per week, based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 2DN.

About the role

The System Development Team provides key analysis and service redesign capacity to support the 'Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture' directorate undertake its significant transformation journey.

The Service encompasses support for vulnerable learners, including children with special educational needs and disabilities and children who have been excluded from school.

As a System Development Officer you will be providing specialist support to Senior Managers to initiate, scope and plan service redesign projects; ensuring change is driving improvements for children, young people and their families.

In this role you will be supporting the development of evidence based business cases; working alongside service leads, corporate teams (finance, procurement, legal, HR) and external partner organisations to identify solution based approaches to ensure barriers are overcome.

As part of project team, you will use your considerable project management experience and collaborative working style to ensure change projects are designed and delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality. You will make sure that that improving outcomes for Surrey's children, young people and families is at the heart of everything you do.

  • Experience of working within an education setting
  • An ability to work as part of a team to deliver change within agreed timescales
  • Flexibility to work across various services, social care, health and schools
  • Degree qualified or significant experience demonstrating career development
  • Willing and able to travel around the county to meet the demands of the role
  • Management qualification or significant project experience
