We have a new opening for an Account Director to develop and lead the strategic direction, media outreach and client servicing of  TVC's key global Luxury and Lifestyle accounts. This will include maintaining existing client activity, as well as supporting the introduction of new clients and business within the luxury and lifestyle sector.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute: 

 

  • Act as lead day-to-day contact with sector clients, including leading update meetings and calls where relevant
  • Lead the team through setting out clear roles & responsibilities and making sure the team is hitting deadlines and sticking to the scope of work for each project
  • Support the team to develop integrated PR plans for campaigns; demonstrating an understanding of global media and an established network of media contacts and develop understanding of other areas of media (digital/ social and paid)
  • Help plan, organise, motivate and lead the activities of  Account Executive / Account Manager and any other support staff where relevant (eg freelancers), achieving required objectives within agreed costs and timeframes
  • Ensuring correct standards for all work is met satisfactorily within the team
  • Undertaking staff appraisals as directed by Director(s) and developing skills as integrated media experts with a determination to deliver above and beyond on every project 
  • Assist the team on media outreach / sell-in for campaigns if required during busy periods
  • Ensure all teams across the business are fully briefed on projects (eg timings, key messages, branding, client and media requirements, etc, briefs for content and creative work)
  • Help prepare and write proposals and lead pitches for extension of activities with current clients, as well as support the Associates with the introduction of new business into the division
  • Help to manage client budgets, including: programme costing; budget monitoring; invoicing and purchase order tracking; and managing profitability of company accounts
  • Be fully aware of the Company’s terms of business and standard client contract/NDAs
  • Overseeing client status reports, meeting notes, sell-in strategies, project plans, quarterly reviews and proposals
  • Overseeing news releases
  • Advising and consulting clients on issues as and when – always looking to maintain and grow relationship
  • Managing client budgets and ensuring invoices are raised and suppliers paid
  • Attending client meetings and conference calls, and signing off action notes afterwards
  • Forward planning – ensuring every angle is covered internally and externally (resourcing, budget expectations, staffing conflicts, client F2F meetings)
  • Drive and support the team that are selling-in
  • Managing and mentoring team members

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The desirable skills for this role include:

 

  • Demonstrable experience in global/UK B2C strategy and activation for relevant clients
  • Good understanding of the media landscape both in UK and globally, across traditional and non-traditional / new media channels, broadcast and online media
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels; with strong verbal communication skills, and ability to write appropriately for differing requirements (including global toolkits, proposals, press releases, case studies, etc)
  • Ability to work as both part of a team as well as manage others effectively within it
  • Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong relationships with a range of broadcast, digital and print journalists, nurtured over several years
  • Excellent relationships with clients and have an overview of the entire account at any given time
  • Energy and drive to run client campaigns and accounts – with the right mix of forward planning; insights and seamless execution and a determination to get results
  • A good working knowledge of the clients’ businesses and objectives
  • Good presentation skills and confidence in client and new business meetings
  • Strong writing and analysing skills
  • Creativity – a willingness to contribute thoughts and ideas to client and new business proposals
  • A confidence in managing and motivating more junior members of the team
  • A demonstrable interest in networking and seeking out new business opportunities
  • Developing strategic planning skills as demonstrated in client and new business proposals
  • An understanding of what makes a client profitable plus an overview of client budgets, billing and invoicing
