A time served mechanical fitter is required to support a very busy engineering team undertaking preventative and reactive maintenance in an upper tier COMAH site. Safety is the number one priority for this role.

Duties include but not limited to: Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the mechanical maintenance and installation tasks are completed safely and to a high standard. Complete all tasks in accordance with applicable instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches. Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team. Apply for relevant permits to work (PTW) in order to complete tasks in a controlled and safe manner. Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments and Non-Routine Job Assessments (NRJ) in order to complete tasks in a safe and controlled manner. Complete reliability based preventative maintenance tasks as directed.

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

4 Year Apprenticeship or Level 2 NVQ equivalent

City and Guilds (C&G) Mechanical Fitting or Assembly and or NVQ Level 3 in related trade.

Demonstrable experience post mechanical apprenticeship/training coupled with current relative experience.

Experience conducting mechanical fitters role in an upper tier COMAH site, preferably in the chemical manufacturing industry

Experience with condition based monitoring techniques such as Vibration Analysis would be an advantage.

Experience in hazardous areas (ATEX/DSEAR)

Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
