Retail Customer Assistant – Part Time 
Scarborough, North Yorkshire 
£8.21 per hour

Our client is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. They are now looking for two Retail Customer Assistants to join their team on a part time basis. 
 
Within a welcoming and team-focused environment, you will have the chance to undertake great training and make a positive difference to the hospital’s visitors, staff and patients. 
 
As the Retail Customer Assistant, you’ll ensure the smooth running of our client’s busy café/shop in Scarborough. 
 
In this varied role, your duties will involve: 
 
- Providing friendly, helpful and efficient customer service 
- Maintaining exceptional store standards 
- Preparing food and drinks 
- Operating the till and handling cash 
- Assisting the team in the accurate completion of regular stock checks 
- Assisting in the co-ordination of the provision of volunteers and employees 
 
Interested? To be considered, you’ll need excellent customer service skills 
 
Although not essential, general administrative experience would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of EPOS systems. Standard IT skills would also be an advantage. 
 
Self-motivated and organised, as a Retail Customer Assistant, you’ll have superb communication skills. You’ll also be friendly and personable with a caring, sensitive approach to customers, staff and volunteers. 
 
These are part time roles working 16 hours per week, four days out of seven with the possibility of overtime to cover sickness and holidays. The working hours will include weekends, early mornings and late finishes, so a flexible approach will be key.
