Can you deliver high quality business support to help the achievement of departmental goals and objectives? 

Are you excited by the opportunity to use your administration skills to support with high profile government projects? 

If so, we are looking to recruit a Business Support Manager who will be providing an end-to-end support function to internal customers within the Department for Transport that is highly valued and progressive. 

This post is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a wide stakeholder base to provide the highest possible standard of administrative support to some of the policies and projects that will shape the future of UK infrastructure. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Diary Management – Undertaking full responsibility for diary and inbox management for a director ensuring proactive and efficient responses at all times. 
• Corporate support to the Senior Management Team - including general administrative support and corporate reporting 
• Supporting in the planning, facilitation and management of events as required by the department. 
• Acting as IT Support Focal Point 
• Assisting as required in recruitment and workforce planning activities.

About you 

Do you have excellent organisation skills, with strong communication skills and a high attention to detail? If so we would love to hear from you. 

We’re looking for someone who is an effective communicator who will be confident in dealing with large volumes of information and being able to translate that into actions required by the team. 

You’ll be confident applying your proficient Microsoft Package skills to utilise a full suite of packages to achieve the departmental administration requirements. 

You’ll be highly driven and looking for an opportunity to provide a high level of corporate support to your stakeholders. You will constantly seek opportunities to grow and improve in the role and help colleagues wherever possible. 

For this role, it’s essential to be able to proactively manage your workload whilst retaining focus on the key priorities of the department. This role is an amazing opportunity to be able to build and develop your corporate support skill in a fast paced and supportive department.
