Conference Assistant
You may remember Unipart as the company that revolutionised the automotive parts industry in the 1970s. Position: Conference Porter
Location: Cowley, Oxfordshire
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: £7,816 per annum
Closing date: 5th August 2019
About the role:
You will provide all meeting room and conference equipment requirements in a fast-paced business environment. Regular tasks will include setting up all furniture and equipment for conferences and events, AV support and routine equipment maintenance, as well as movement and installation of AV hardware. Occasional reception work to cover breaks and holidays, and other relevant tasks in support of a small Client Services team will be expected.
Responsibilities:
- Conference and Meeting Room layout set-ups (chairs, tables, flip charts etc.).
- Tidying and organising storage areas (furniture and AV equipment) Setting up Audio Visual equipment under guidance of the AV Manager and Technicians.
- Supporting conference facilitators and delegates with connecting to room AV systems and WiFi (training given).
- Carrying and moving heavy furniture and equipment.
- Assisting with equipment installation, set-up and operation (training given).
About you:
- You will be a confident, self-motivated individual, who is able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise own workloads and follow instructions to meet tight deadlines.
- We are looking for a reliable hard worker with a friendly, professional manner and a willingness to learn new skills.
- You must have a passion for customer service. Lifting, shifting, transporting and setting up heavy furniture and equipment is a large part of the job, so ability to carry out this physical work is essential.
