Islington Council are currently working alongside Spencer Clarke Group to recruit an Family Support Worker to work within the Disabled Childrens Team  The role is Full Time and operates on a 6+Month ongoing contract We are looking to get someone started as soon as possible. The Hourly rate is £15.06 to £16 Negotiable dependent upon experience and we are hoping to get someone started as soon as possible. Working hours – Part Time (25 Hours a week) Working Patterns: The 25-hour posts work eight shifts over a two-week period, which includes every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and alternate weekends. We are closed every Monday / Tuesday and alternate weekends, which would be your six fixed days off a fortnight. The shifts are to cover after school sessions and are across the day at weekends. During school holidays all shifts are usually seven hours long across the day and extra hours may be accrued. You would work five shifts on the week when we are open at the weekend and three shifts on the week when we are closed at the weekend. Your Role; You will be a member of the Disabled Children’s Services Family Support Team, based at Lough Road Centre providing direct support to children with complex disabilities in a range of settings: in the centre, in the community and in their homes. You will provide high quality support to the children and work as part of a team to provide positive activities, reduce challenging behaviours, promote independence, develop communication skills and offer choices. You will focus on delivering the outcomes identified in education, health and social care plans; you will proactively contribute toward the team around the child, including safeguarding children’s welfare and maximising their individual potential.
