This role is integral to L&Q's reputation and is key for ensuring our customers are satisfied. We are looking for people with excellent communication and stakeholder management, people who are passionate and able to deliver.

A QI is responsible for ensuring the quality of new homes delivered to customers meets the L&Q Quality Standard and any issues raised by the customer upon moving into their new homes are handled correctly and resolved promptly. As a QI the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of new homes, with a focus on function, building form and building construction.

It is essential that you are a first class communicator with experience of dealing face to face with customers and the issues they raise, ensuring they fully understand the solutions available. You will be able to liaise effectively with contractors, specialist sub-contractors, residents, and our own technical and housing management staff.

You will deliver an effective service to monitor quality of work on site and that new homes delivered to customers are fully completed prior to occupation. You will work closely with the client Project Managers, the Asset Management and maintenance surveyors, together with the technical administrative team to ensure that L&Q achieve 100% client satisfaction with the new homes and systems constructed. You will make a real difference providing an effective, efficient and responsive quality inspection process to support L&Q's objective of achieving Customer Satisfaction Excellence.

You will have knowledge in the construction of new buildings, on large scale estates and regeneration schemes incorporating sustainable construction elements. You will require the experience and knowledge to review the progress of all elements of contracts with contractors’ design responsibility. You will require a sound understanding of construction process including trades and materials.

You will need to have an ability to identify and resolve multiple issues to ensure the highest level of contract compliance. You will be familiar with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as a reference when inspecting the work. An attention to detail when checking work and materials is essential.

You will require knowledge and experience of both customer and user requirements and have the skills and experience to meet both stakeholder and resident satisfaction. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of construction monitoring to ensure that quality and value for money is achieved at all times. 

You will need to be computer literate and be able input and retrieve data from computer management systems.   This appointment will require a combination of both site and office based activity.

Part of this role will entail meeting customers in their new home, which will require on occasions that you are able to work in the evening or on a Saturday. You will need a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle on a daily basis as this role requires the post holder to be mobile (travelling to various sites).
