Nottinghamshire Children and Families Partnership - Family Support Worker
Part-time 18.5 hours, fixed term until 31/5/2020
Salary; GBP 18,303 - GBP 22,466 (pro rata, per annum)
Location; Bassetlaw area, including; Langold, Worksop, Retford and Misterton
You will be employed by the RNN Group on behalf of The Nottinghamshire Children and Families Partnership. The team requires an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Family Support team across the district to deliver a quality service for vulnerable children and families who require additional support. NCFP Children's Centres have positive working relationships with Community agencies delivering anti-discriminatory services through the integrated agenda. You will be recruited to the Locality but have an identified base.
You must be committed to the provision of a preventative and early intervention service and be interested to work in partnership with parents and other partners, have the child as the centre of your professional thinking.
The Role
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will support families and children through outreach, home-visiting and community/group based activities. You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, or equivalent, and have a significant amount of post-qualifying childcare experience including working in an integrated setting and be committed to professional development. You will also have Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent. You must be able to work on the individual strengths of families, have good assessment skills and have the ability to ensure services are accessible to all children and their families.
Have you got what it takes?
You will establish and maintain appropriate relationships with children, parents, carers and professionals in order to achieve shared holistic objectives. You should be able to evidence your ability to work with complex assessments and use of assessment techniques with children and their families. Communication skills are a key requirement, with skills in IT recording systems and the provision of verbal and written reports.
You will be requested to work under your own initiative and as part of a team in an identified base but may be required to work across the locality. You will need a full clean drivers licence with access to a vehicle.
