You’re an experienced hands-on Juniper network engineer looking for an opportunity to climb into a senior position or you’ve already arrived but it’s not delivering on the promise. The position will be calibrated to the individual.

You’ll provide technical leadership of design solutions and lead automation of initiatives to reduce effort.

Technical challenges ahead include 5G over satellite, the drive to automate network engineering and integration with large mobile network operators across 3G, 4G & 5G.

With the recent launch of a communications satellite in space it is an exciting time for this service provider.

They are a provider of satellite data communications services in Europe, the Middle East & Africa.

The Group has invested $1.2bn in a network that incorporates satellites, ground stations, datacentres and a fibre ring. They have a unique Cloud based customer interface protected by patents.

• Technical lead of design, scope & implementation of new network solutions for new projects;
• Build, configure, test & maintain core, provider and customer edge networks;
• Ensure maximum network & service availability
• Support in-house operational support systems;
• Undertake routine network management and optimisation tasks;
• Apply continual service improvement framework
• Apply traffic engineering principles
• Lead the development of network automation initiatives to reduce design to delivery effort;
• Provide the technical leadership and support to less experienced team members;
• Primary technical expert contact for Pre-Sales in design & provision of solutions to Partners;

• Experience of Juniper solutions (MX routers, EX switches & SRX firewalls), including network design, configuration, and troubleshooting;
• A minimum of three years working with the Juniper product range listed above;
• Demonstrable experience of ISP bandwidth and subscriber management products (DPI);
• ISP/Telecom experience, preferably with hands-on experience with MPLS and QoS.
• Should have an excellent degree of competency in these technical areas: Networking Protocols/Services: BGP, OSPF, IPSec, GRE, VRRP, CGNAT, MPLS, QoS, Multicast;
• Demonstrable experience in the administration of network resources – ASN, IP Addressing, etc.;
• Excellent traffic/packet analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of Linux operational commands
• Project management in design & implementation of network infrastructure and solutions;

• Open source monitoring, graphing tools: e.g. Nagios, Splunk, Cacti/RRDtool, Shinken & Graphite;
• Use of JUNOS Space product suite;
• Python and Linux shell scripting experience;
• Experience of network automation software & tools eg. Ansible, Puppet, Git, etc.
• Working experience of SDN & NFV implementations;
• An appreciation of the DevOps approach.
