Looking for meaningful part-time work? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them with fun activities such as bowling, listening to music and meals out? Then maybe we have the role for you.

You'll be a part-time Support Worker in our Leicester Outreach service, supporting adults with learning disabilities. We have contracts for up to 25 hours a week working some days, evenings and weekends.

This opportunity is only open to Female applicants* due to the operational requirements of the service, and you will need to be a driver with your own transport insured for business use.

Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, from experienced Care Workers and Healthcare Assistants to career changers and others looking for a start in the health care sector. What's important is that you share our values, have a positive approach and are willing to learn.

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include bowling, swimming, going out for walks, listening to music, going into town, shopping or out for meals, visiting the Space Centre and day trips to other locations.

The general age range of the people we support is between 35 - 40 and one person is also a wheelchair user. You'll provide emotional reassurance and support to help people manage their behaviour. You'll need to help with medication or personal care in some cases.

We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your line manager and colleagues This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference to someone's life.

Please note, you'll need a full UK (manual) drivers licence for this role.
