HR Officer 

The CADCentre UK Ltd., a national training provider, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Officer. Part-time (3 days a week) to work in either its Swansea or Newport office. Responsible for all functions and issues relating to HR, including recruitment, employee records, contracts, training & development, absences, grievances, disciplinary hearings, appeals etc.

Responsible to: General Manager and Directors

Job Purpose

The primary role is to manage and be responsible for all functions and issues relating to HR, supporting both Staff and Managers. This is a standalone position and you will be reporting to the General Manager and Directors.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Providing any Information, Advice and Guidance relating to HR issues to Staff, Managers and Directors.
  • Keeping up to date with Employment Law legislation and best practice within HR.
  • Interpreting, advising on, and implementing employment law issues.
  • Working closely with Managers to ensure policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Working closely with Managers and the General Manager on issues relating to staff performance.
  • Assisting managers with staff recruitment including, where necessary, job descriptions, person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, short listing, interviewing and selecting candidates.

Conducting the relevant pre-employment checks on potentially suitable candidates including: ID verification, Right-to-Work in the UK, registered with the EWC (where appropriate) and reference checks.

  • Ensuring staff DBS checks are completed in line with relevant safeguarding legislation.
  • Annually registering all relevant staff with the EWC.
  • Issuing staff employment contracts and job descriptions and ensuring these are signed and filed securely.
  • Ensuring all employee records are kept up to date, including the Central Record, and collation of staff’s CPD.
  • Implementing procedures and policies on performance management, (including performance appraisals) training & development, Equality, Wellbeing, H&S, grievances, investigations and disciplinary procedures and absence management.
  • Monitoring staff attendance and reporting on staff absence.
  • Compiling monthly information for salaries for wages dept. and compiling and checking all expenses against the relevant paperwork.
  • Providing point of contact for staff to discuss any confidential issues.
  • Dealing with staff grievances, disciplinary, and appeal hearings.
  • Analysing training and development needs, planning and conducting training if necessary.
  • Promoting Equality and Diversity in the company.
  • Compiling data, statistics and reports for Managers and Directors.
  • Completing any adhoc HR projects and reports for the company.
  • Taking part in staff and management meetings.
  • Visiting our offices throughout Wales regularly and as necessary.
  • Following company procedures with regard to demonstrating commitment to equality of opportunity and any other anti-discriminatory practice and ensure maintenance of confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Any other and related HR duties as defined by the General Manager or Directors.

Experience

At least 2 years experience of working in HR.

Knowledge of CADcentre policies and procedures (once in post).
