Senior Finance Officer
We’re looking for a self-motivated individual, with a progressive approach, to join our clients Finance team in Northampton, as Senior Finance Officer.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: circa £27,500 per annum
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Finance Officer will ensure the accurate and timely processing of sales, purchase and bank activity; which will help guarantee accurate reporting and decision making within the Association, along with ensuring that the department runs efficiently and effectively.
The Senior Finance Officer will become the principal contact within the finance team for internal and external, customers and suppliers, as such it is essential that the job holder is able to communicate effectively via the telephone and email.
The job holder can expect to be taking ownership of the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Banking processes, working with direct reports to resolve queries across all 3 areas. The main activities include the monitoring of all relevant email inboxes, as well as the internal ticket system, responding to both internal and external stakeholders. Along with ensuring that all transactional activity is recorded within the main accounting system as per the month-end schedule and service level agreements.
The Senior Finance Officer will have responsibility for 3 direct reports, as such they will be expected to manage and develop staff.
The job holder would also be expected to support the Financial Controller and Management Accountant ensuring that cover for sickness and annual leave is in place.
You’ll have experience of all basic Microsoft Office applications, mainly Outlook and Excel and be able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy, and be organised and methodical when dealing with large processing volumes. Knowledge of PS Financial would be advantageous but not essential.
