An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our global FMCG client - the powerhouse behind brands such as Domestos, Cif, Sure and Persil, as a Deodorant/Odour Assessor for a 6- month contract. The post will be based from our client's prestigious Research & Development Facility in Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a part-time role - average hours 26 hours per week, working Monday-Friday, however some flexibility will be needed to fit in with panel test schedules. The salary is up to £20,500 per annum, pro rata depending on experience.

Please note; the vacancy is only open to females as the role involves washing, taking samples from and applying products to, the underarms of female panellists who will be partially clothed.

Whilst training will be given, the job holder must pass initial olfactive screening tests to demonstrate they have a good discriminating sense of smell (the candidate will be required to smell certain odours to determine if they can sense them). Due to the olfactive skills needed, the role is open to non-smokers only.

This purpose of this exciting, unique role is to perform expert sensory assessment of odour and fragrance on underarms of female and male panellists, in line with the requirements of the Deo Discover, Design and Deploy Programme. The role involves working as part of a team to deliver studies to the Deodorants Category.

The specific tasks associated with the role are summarised below:

Smelling panellists' underarms (females and males) and rating level of odour and fragrance at key points during the day.
Working as part of a team to deliver insights from Deo tests on time in full, including deputising for the panel leader.
Conducting studies involving internal and external panellists or consumers who are members of the public.
Compliance with study protocols and standard operating procedures.
Collection and input of data.
Logistical management of panels and substrates (e.g. T-shirts, samples, supplies).
Substrate preparation including fabric/T-shirt preparation and laundering.
Liaising with the public, project and Consumer Science team members, Unilever Safety Quality & Environment Dept.
Handling safety documentation and adhering to safety procedures.
Handling sensitive information such as medical histories, adverse reaction and information/consent documentation.

Accurate data entry and use of electronic data collection programs is required - must be able to pick up new computer systems quickly. The job holder will be responsible for generating and maintaining databases (including through use of Microsoft Excel and Compusense).
