We’re looking for an HR Advisor for our client’s Maidenhead office. You could be an HR Manager; HR Officer or HRBP; an ER Advisor or a Case Manager, perhaps from retail or elsewhere in the private sector.

Either way you will have a love of all things employment law & ER and you’ll have the confidence to advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters & HR processes, not only the ‘policy says’ answer, but on risk assessed options to deliver efficient expedient solutions, for which you’ll draft the necessary paperwork (not just templates.) To operate this way, you do need to know your employment law onions! That said, their team pride themselves on their ability to collaborate on challenging cases and you’ll have plenty of willing sounding boards for that intriguing twist!

Our client offers a very pleasant flexible/part time (or full) collaborative work environment where you can develop your skills, but without the pressure of billing targets and long working hours. Self- development is encouraged (and funded) and you’ll have access to most of the major employment law/HR resource banks too.

Here you’ll have the chance to work with ex lawyers, ex blue chip HR directors, HR Advisors and ER Advisors with a range of industry and retail backgrounds.

Client employment law and ER work is mainly undertaken by phone and email, but may also involve site visits to sit in on or lead investigations and hearings. In this role (which can be 4 days with negotiable hours & term time is a possibility) your career will widen into other areas alongside law – an ex-employment solicitor already employed by our client describes the satisfaction of being involved in cases before all hope has broken down!

To be of interest for this role you will have:

  • At least 3 years in an employment law related role gained from within the private sector or with private sector clients
  • In depth experience of advising clients or line managers on employment issues & drafting accompanying letters etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment contracts and terms, exit agreements & the application of typical HR processes
  • Superb communication skills, verbal and written
  • A willingness to be part of a collaborative team
  • A good relevant degree or equivalent occupational qualifications
  • A driving license and & the ability to commute to our client’s offices just outside Maidenhead
  • The ability to travel to client sites from time to time.

You may also (though not essentially) have experience of running client training workshops in employment law/HR processes.
