Job Details

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and experienced Site Manager with proven track record in infrastructure construction (highways, utilities, drainage, excavation, contaminated land issues and ecology/ protect species etc) to join Barking Riverside Infrastructure Team.

Reporting to the Senior Site Manager – Infrastructure, the Site Manager will be responsible to safely deliver defined projects to the required standard, cost and timetable, by managing Principal Contractors’ activities on a variety of construction areas across the Barking Riverside Development. You will coordinate and plan activities between neighbouring work areas, resolving conflicts and solving problems before they escalate. You will also record progress of works against programme, involving colleagues from quality, HS&E or Logistics in any emerging issues. At interview you will be invited to tell us about site based health, safety, environment, quality and logistics issues that you have resolved successfully, giving specific details about the challenges you faced and how you dealt with them.

Applicants will demonstrate a record of achievement in similar roles (ideally on the client-side and contractor- side) and experience in infrastructure construction such as highways, drainage, utilities, excavation, contaminated land and protected species/ ecology.

It is desirable to hold a HNC or equivalent in a construction related discipline, a CSCS card, current first aid, and 5 day SMSTS .  You will have good communication skills and a demonstrable track record of building strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.

Access to a full suite of benefits including 24 days holiday per year, annual bonus subject to business and individual performance, excellent Pension scheme and real investment in your personal & career development. Other benefits include an employee assistance programme and non-contributory life assurance.

We are recognised externally for our commitment to inclusion.  We are a Stonewall Diversity Champion, a Disability Confident (Committed) employer and have signed the Time to Change Employer Pledge to demonstrate our commitment to end mental health discrimination in the workplace.

We expect all of our employees to support our environmental policy and social responsibility work. We are an employer committed to environmental and social responsibility.

We are committed to supporting your work-life balance and recognise the changing demands and circumstances in life.
