JOB DESCRIPTION FOR: CHIEF OFFICER
LOCATION: DUDLEY
JOB TITLE: CHIEF OFFICER
SALARY: £29,323 per annum (pro rata, £23,458)
HOURS: PART TIME, 4 days per week (until March 2021, subject to funding)
THE COMPANY: Our client is a local independent charity established in 1987 providing guidance, support and information to people after a stroke and their families through a family and carer support service, stroke reviews and groups.
THE ROLE: Our client is seeking to appoint a Chief Officer to continue to take the organisation forward.
The Chief Officer will lead, direct and manage the service and business operations across the organisation and will work with external organisations and providers, being responsible for all aspects of service operations to ensure services are delivered in line with contracts and funder requirements to achieve high quality and positive outcomes for service users within the Dudley Borough.
Are you/Do you have?:
Knowledge and Experience of the voluntary sector
Minimum 3 years direct experience of operational management in a health and social care sector and service providing organisation
Experience of managing contracts
Experience of handling large quantities of data and project planning
Evidence of successful collaborative working with public sector senior managers, professional practitioners and/or commissioners
Excellent communication skills, highly articulate verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills and experience
Well organised and capable of meeting deadlines
Experienced in workforce planning and development
Strong skills in finance and budget management
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Have the ability to use commonly used IT software
Be a car driver and have the use of a vehicle for work purposes
Knowledge of health and Social care operating environment, key current issues and opportunities
Knowledge of issues facing people who have suffered a stroke and their carers
Knowledge of outcomes and value-based approaches to service development and delivery
Understanding of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and safeguarding processes
Key Responsibilities of the job role to include:-
Manage the implementation of service contracts/specifications ensuring a high-quality service is provided that fulfils funding requirements, implementing strategies to achieve these targets
Manage and support the development of staff and resources
Oversee the administration
Liaise with service users, health, social care and other providers
Authorise expenses, annual leave, sick leave, and study leave keeping appropriate records
Network with local agencies to
Manage the collection of data
Participate fully in management and board meetings
Participate in strategic development of the charity
To be the public face of the charity
To recruit and develop the use of volunteers
Manage budgets, monitor finances against agreed targets
