Supporting Teachers to deliver the best outcomes for their learners
As Editorial and Design Manager you'll lead the design of all the customer facing resources we provide to teachers and learners. The Creative Production and Editorial team will be under your guidance, having the responsibility for design, format and editorial quality of the OCR supporting product documents.

The Editorial and Design Manager will define what good looks like, deciding the 'Tone of Voice' and 'Style' guidelines, and be responsible for the ongoing development of the appearance of our customer facing supporting materials.

You will understand what teachers need, excelling at taking specialist content and presenting it in the right models and templates, in line with brand guidelines. As the design and editorial owner you will also have responsibility to ensure all materials are complaint and meet regulatory standards.

What you'll be doing
Leading a team of 4 Creatives and an Editor, based in Coventry and Cambridge, your role is to provide leadership and direction in the delivery of all customer-facing product materials, ensuring the right knowledge and skills are in place.

You'll establish the editorial and design framework along with the processes needed to ensure the seamless transition from development to the classroom. And as the owner of OCR Product templates, you will drive forward the development and implementation of the visual and editorial styles making the products live and having the final say on how they should look and feel.

With ultimate accountability for the design, legal copyright, editorial quality and consistency of the wide range of Product materials, you will also manage the change control and feedback processes. Key to success will be your ability to present a consistent application of product defined 'look and feel', whist ensuring we meet legal and accessibility requirements.

What we're looking for
With established document creation and editorial experience, you'll be able to share your experiences of how you have led and motivated a diverse creative production team. With the abilities to plan and coordinate large-scale production processes, you will have an established stakeholder management skills and a handy project management tool kit.

Problem solving and prioritisation skills are key as is the ability to think holistically as you respond to the changing business demands. Comfortable with reporting and budget management, as well as managing fluctuating numbers of 3rd party freelancers across multiple locations, you will have an instinctive quality mind-set not afraid to challenge and explore new ways of doing things.
