Staff Work PerksOur Supported Living project has excellent employment opportunities. We have various contracts available for Care Support Workers to provide service users with appropriate support so they may work towards maximising their independence. You will work in our supported living homes for adults with learning disabilities within Salisbury & Amesbury.

You will be trained to provide first class support to service users with diverse and complex needs. Through training, the successful candidates will understand the importance of structured support planning and up to date paperwork, including identifying risks.

Various hours are available, full time and part time. You will be required to work unsociable hours including sleepovers which are paid at a rate of £50 per night. We also require relief staff to join our team.

Hourly rate £9.32 rising to £9.55. Covering Amesbury & Salisbury

Key Performance Objectives:

To carry out the regular assessment of service users' needs and risk assessments.
To complete and submit housing benefit and personal benefit forms when required
To ensure all monies owing are collected and banked, where possible standing orders set up using correct codes.
Ensure all client personal money receipts are coded and legible and match entries on personal money sheets and tin checks are completed at the start and end of each shift
To ensure all the correct paper work is used correctly throughout the learning disability services as these have been designed to ensure accessibility and meet the "Reach" standards
To ensure that service users are made aware of and understand their rights and responsibilities in relation to their licence agreement
To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, colleges, day services, training providers and employers on behalf of clients as appropriate
To assist clients in having the opportunity to voice their views and be involved in making decisions about service delivery
To maintain clients confidentiality within policies and procedures
To update all necessary client records in accordance with our policies and proceduresSupported Housing | Support Plans | Key Working | Mental Health | New Tag | Alcohol | Addiction

Essential Skills

Understanding and knowledge of adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health
Hold a QCF (NVQ) 2 in Care or relevant experience and be prepared to work towards a level 3.
To complete The Care Certificate whilst in probation.
Experience of working unsupervised and on your own initiative.
Experience of working as part of a team.
Ability to form and maintain professional working relationships with a range of individuals,
Good Knowledge of Risk Assessments and Care plans.
Understanding of the role of a keyworker
Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Experience of administrating medication
Experience or knowledge of challenging behaviour
Basic IT skills
To be able to cover on a flexible rota to include some evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep-ins with excellent time keeping required
Ability to support the Team Leader, Senior Support Worker and your team to ensure case notes are clear, Desirable Skills

Experience or knowledge of Makaton
Good working knowledge of the welfare benefits system
Good working knowledge of key working system
Experience of involving service users in improving services
Experience and knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and related issues.
Experience and knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, general social care code of conduct.About Company
