What is the purpose of this role?
The role will involve undertaking environmental noise surveys and noise modelling and working with the Senior Acousticians in the delivery of the noise assessment reports required for planning applications, for Environmental Statements for major projects and for construction and operation noise monitoring. You will be working on a variety of exciting infrastructure projects encompassing road schemes for clients including Highways England, Transport Scotland and the Department for Infrastructure (NI) and rail enhancement and electrification projects for Network Rail and Transport for Wales. Based in our Belfast or Glasgow office, the job will require occasional travel as required to meet the needs of the business.

What are we looking for?
* Have a degree or relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Acoustics, Music Technology or related discipline, or equivalent work experience; * Be committed to a career in Acoustics; * Have experience of noise surveys and an awareness of the noise modelling process and associated software; * Have an awareness of relevant noise assessment guidance and the Institute of Acoustics; * Possess excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail; * Experience of contribution to a team within an Acoustics environment is desirable; * Willingness to work towards Institute of Acoustics (IoA) membership and, if relevant, to undertake the IoA Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control; * Excellent IT literacy, particularly with MS Office packages; * A full, clean UK driving licence.
