What is the purpose of this role?
To carry out routine repairs and maintenance at the prison. Building of flatpack furnitre, hanidng noticeboards, shelving etc. assisting fellow tradespeople and escoring contractors.
Work Hours- Monday-Friday
Contract- 39 hours
What will this role involve?
Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, plant, materials and additional company property.
Deliver work allocated to the standards of quality required and within set timescales.
Ensure the Health and Safety of self and others in the workplace in accordance with company policy.
Follow and adhere to instructions and directives from line management and the Central Co-ordination Team.
Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directives.
To undertake out of hours callout duties as per rota requirements
What are we looking for?
Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in joinery or similar discipline.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Joinery Tiling Minor plumbing (Desirable) Minor plastering (Desirable)
Interpersonal skills
Time management
Previous relevant work related experience
Ability to use PDA device
Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments
Enthusiastic Punctual Conscientious Self-motivated Interpersonal skills
Accurate measuring and scoping of works
Good knowledge of current industry practice
