About the role:
The aim of the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) is to identify, disrupt and dismantle serious and organised crime groups across the region and beyond.
Can you help us do that?
Based in Birmingham, with travel across the West Midlands region, the unit is one of 10 Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCUs) across England and Wales that have a range of specialist policing capabilities, including a dedicated cyber security team.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and confident communications manager to support and promote internal, external and campaign activity across the unit.
You will be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent verbal, written, digital and communication skills and experience of producing and implementing communication plans across a wide range of platforms, including the website and social media.
Your role will include working creatively and innovatively to seek out new opportunities and channels to maximise internal and external engagement opportunities.

Additional Information:
- This is a part time role working 3 days per week.
Essential Requirements
- Formal qualification in English or public relations related qualification to degree level or equivalent and relevant experience in a communications office environment
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Experience of publishing information across a range of digital platforms including social media
- Proven presentation skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative
- Flexible, approachable and with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels
Desirable
- Proven organisational and planning skills
- Experience in using digital marketing software such as Wideos and Piktochart
