Amey has secured a considerable amout of Water Infrastructure work through our Design and Build Framework for AMP6 with Severn Trent Water (STW) and as a result we are looking to recruit a Senior Technician to bolster our existing team.

You will manage the Requisitions team and distribute work for the AMP6 with the Severn Trent Water contract. The existing design team is built up of proactive individuals who go the extra mile to achieve client targets. You will be accountable and responsible for managing and mentoring your team to lead the Clean Water infrastructure Requisition Designs along with providing support to the Design Manager with hands on delivery of complex diversions.

What will the Senior Technician role involve?

• Delivering Clean Water infrastructure projects.
• Support the Design Manager on projects outside of Diversions.
• Preparation of fee proposals and scoping of projects based on initial desktop review.
• CDM Designer role.
• Taking line management responsibility for the direction of junior design team members to ensure project delivery.
• Plan and manage the delivery of the design element of the project including resource time, cost and quality.
• Implement project requirements to meet client specification.
• Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence.
• Carry out site visits and surveys, inspections and supervise sub-contractors.
• Prepare and check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents.
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply this within the team.

What are we looking for in Senior Technician?

• Degree educated within a relevant discipline or HNC / HND with demonstrable experience.
• Previous experience at Senior Technician level or similar would be desirable.
• Ability to meet project and scheme deadlines.
• Experience of working within clean water infrastructure environments.
• Full competence in line managing a design team to ensure project delivery is achieved.
• Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite and relevant engineering software packages.
