Start your day knowing you will make a difference!

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is a leading voluntary organisation, supporting people with a broad range of needs to live in their own homes, as part of their community. We are an organisation driven by strong values and a firm commitment to choice, dignity and social inclusion. Although we support over 2800 people throughout Scotland, we are committed to delivering services that recognise people as individuals and treat them with dignity and respect; just like we would all want ourselves.

If you are fit and healthy with a wide range of personal interests and activities and are willing to share your community contacts with those you support, this could be the opportunity for you!

You will be part of a committed team, supporting individuals with Autism and associated complex learning disabilities. All of the people supported need full support with all aspects of their life which includes either full support with personal care or prompting with personal care, support with cooking or prompting to cook meals, general household tasks, shopping and attending appointments. Some people have complex communication needs and we use different communication tools to meet the individual`s needs. Some of the individuals can get anxious and display challenging behaviour, this always tends to be when the person is trying to communicate something.

Here at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, we make a real difference in supporting people with their everyday lives. Each person we support is unique so each support role will be different from the next, giving you the chance to make a difference in that individuals life.

You will join an experienced team full of enthusiastic staff that will mentor you, provide support and guidance and you will also receive excellent training. The shifts will vary from day to day, including sleepovers, waking nights and can also include lone working. A valid driver`s licence is desirable but not essential in this post.

No care experience is necessary for these positions, but if you have previously worked in this type of service and are looking to develop your career with an organisation committed to achieving outcomes for the people we support and for our staff, we would welcome your application. This includes people with skills in supporting those with autism and learning disabilities.

Previous experience is great but a full training program is offered to everyone who joins The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, so even if this is a new career path for you, we would love to meet you.

What matters most is that you have the right values and the right attitude.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a change in your life and in that of the people we support. The work can be challenging, but as well as a competitive salary, enhanced pension contributions, annual leave and discounts at over 850 online and high street retailers, we can offer you a rewarding and satisfying role in your local community.

Not only will you get a great sense of achievement but in return, you can expect fantastic career progression opportunities, award-winning training and a positive enjoyable working environment.

Please apply below and let The Richmond Fellowship Scotland work with you to progress your career and help provide the best possible care and support to the individuals we support.
