Academics London is currently looking to recruit SEN TA's looking to work in the Hackney area, providing group support to primary aged students.

Part time (1pm to 6pm)
£10 per hour
One Year Contract
Primary, group supportIf you have experience working as an SEN TA, or experience working with SEN students, this position would be a real boost to your future career. Offering a range of experiences and training, this is the perfect position if you would like to explore a vocation in Special Education Needs.

Responsibilities:

Supervising and supporting students in classroom work across the curriculum
Liaising with teaching staff regarding work set in class
Setting appropriate expectations and establishing productive, supportive working relationships with the students and staff
Manage students' behaviour positively
Support all other aspects of school life including lunchtimes and after-school clubs.For those looking at going into teaching, this will provide you with the exact kind of experience and exposure to the education sector that PGCE course co-ordinators look for when appointing places. What is more, you will make great links with senior leaders who can assist with future job prospects, specifically when it comes to your newly qualified teacher year.

The ideal candidate would have:

A*-C in GCSE Maths, English and Science
A university degree OR relevant qualifications
Good communication skills
Positive attitude
Some experience working with children
A basic understanding of safeguarding
