Recruitment Coordinator
Swindon Head Office, Greenbridge
Grade B, Salary up to £18,000

HR is at the heart of WHSmith, made up from Employee Relations and L&D, to Payroll & Reward and Recruitment. These specialists, plus our generalist HR team, support the entire Group in looking after our 14,000+ employees. Because life moves so fast in our business, HR has to move quickly too. You'll need to take the initiative and be ready to make big decisions, fast. Here, HR is all about finding innovative, commercial solutions and putting them into action.

We're looking for a Recruitment Coordinator to join the talented Recruitment team at our Swindon Head Office. Reporting into the Group Recruitment Manager, the successful applicant will be a confident and motivated Recruitment Administrator or Coordinator with a keen interest in resourcing and capable of managing varying work streams. An integral part of this role will be the coordination of Airside Passes for new starters within our large airports and resourcing support to the wider team.

What you'll do:

As the Recruitment Coordinator you'll get exposure across both our stores and head office recruitment. You'll support our Heathrow store teams with the coordination and management of the airside pass and referencing process for new starters within the airport. Ensuring that airport regulations are adhered to and passes are obtained within the required timescales.

As well as the Heathrow support you will provide administration support to the wider recruitment team, including the generation of contracts, processing and request of references and support of shared inboxes as well as ad hoc administration support for the Learning and Development (L&D) Team.

There will be more to your role than the administration and coordination however. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in resourcing, and a desire to source the best talent for our business. Sporadically you will support the Recruitment Advisors with screening and selection for some vacancies in the business, to identify the next top talent for WHSmith.

Who we're looking for:

You'll ideally have some recruitment administration / coordination experience, or at least an interest and intrigue into recruitment which you want to explore further. Previous resourcing experience isn't required as this is something we will train you up on, you will need to be naturally proactive, able to work at pace and be highly organised.

Previous administration experience and strong PC skills are a must, with excellent written and oral communication with a highly focused and uncompromising eye for detail. Finally you will need to be driven, ambitious and hungry to deliver the best possible service to the variety of stakeholders that you'll deal with.

If you want a position with autonomy, scope to grow and a job where no week is ever the same then WHSmith could be for you.

What's in it for you?

We're a company that values our people; from day one you will receive ongoing support and have access to our various training and development programmes as well as exciting career development opportunities for your future. We offer a wide range of benefits to say thank you for all your hard work including; a competitive salary, a profit related bonus, 24 days holiday plus your birthday off, pension, as well as other perks such as 4pm finish on a Friday and our popular holiday trading scheme.

Company

WHSmith started in 1792 with a small news vendor in Little Grosvenor Street, London, followed by the opening of our first bookstall in Euston Station in 1848. We quickly established ourselves as the favoured newsagent, stationers and bookseller opening stores across the UK. From this point on, there has been no looking back.
