The Programme Management Office (PMO) team is the backbone support to the marketing team, enabling them to deliver great work. By helping the team navigate how to get things done in the right way and establishing the right rhythms (ie: the process), we help the marketing organisation to deliver successful projects on time with appropriate sign-off along the way (ie: governance).

What will this role achieve?

This role is the driving force that leads the day-to-day running of the Programme Management Office (PMO), under the direction of the Head of Marketing PMO. You will establish the marketing project framework (ie the process), embedding consistent ways of working and creating regular rhythms to manage/monitor projects, track budgets and identify potential emerging risks in programme delivery.

You are responsible for supporting the Head of Marketing PMO in the daily running of all marketing projects in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities. You will create full visibility of all projects, organisational resourcing, agency resourcing, timing and budgets. You support the Head of PMO to keep an end-to-end status view of all projects, calling out any challenges to successful programme delivery, and helping teams to keep on top of any change in business focus or priorities. You will collaborate across a diverse organisation including marketing, channel, ownership and B2B marketing teams to ensure that the stage-gate approval process is rigorous and effective.

 

Role and Responsibilities

What will be your key deliverables?

 

 

 

  • Deliver world-best-practice PMO method/outcomes, enabling IM to achieve competitive advantage.
  • Create an exciting & effective PMO culture that equips SEUK IM business to deliver timely commercial marketing project outcomes that meet the pre-determined expectations of the IM Leadership Team. 
  • Champion the resource requirements of SEUK marketing campaign team, ownership team, B2B marketing team and channel team to enable them to deliver pre-agreed business outcomes.
  • Manage the PMO process to enable effective delivery of projects & programs by the marketing campaign team, marketing ownership team, B2B marketing team and channel marketing team.  Ensure marketing teams understand and comply with Samsung processes.
  • Manage the operation and delivery of the SEUK IM Project Management program including Leadership Team stage-gate decision making, project resource planning, time planning & trafficking. Communicate this transparently across the SEUK IM business.
  • Embed and continue to improve ways of working with teams ensuring teams adhere to Samsung processes and procedures and are aware of the marketing project framework and key sign-off moments.
  • Maintain project tracking and status reports including delivery status, risks to delivery and budget summary for all projects assigned by Head of PMO.
  • Provide project support to marketing teams by setting up project rhythm in line with marketing framework, attending all key sessions and circulating key decisions and actions to Project Lead and maintaining project status view, escalating risks to the Head of PMO
  • Support key governance forums (creative and budget sign-off).
  • Work with analytic and insights teams to ensure each project lead is given actionable insights and results at appropriate moments during project delivery (start, ongoing, wrap).
  • Work with Marketing Operations function in Corporate Marketing to keep updated on business process and procedure.  Support the team in problem solving and suggest process improvement with a view to delivering operational excellence.

 

 

What do we need for this role?

 

 

 

Essential Hard Skills:

 

  • Process and procedure development experience.
  • Experience working with and influencing cross functional teams.
  • Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Proven experience in budget planning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & spoken).
  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Project management skills advantageous (Prince 2, Agile).  

     

    Essential Soft Skills:                          

     

  • Highly organised and driven individual with a passion for problem solving.
  • Resilient, analytical individual with strong commercial acumen who is comfortable asking searching questions in the right way to define status of each project.
  • Marketing background would be highly advantageous, enabling a true understanding of marketing deliverables.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions, and co-ordinate with others.
  • Ability to build rapport, credibility and trust with internal colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong stakeholder management and adaptable to changing needs of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others.
  • Strong reporting skills, display key information and convey messages clearly, concisely and with impact.
  • Fast learner and willingness to take on additional tasks as and when required.
