Job Details
We are looking for a qualified legal professional to join an ambitious council as Head of Legal and Democratic Services.
Position: Head of Legal and Democratic Services/Monitoring Officer
Salary: £72,803 to £83,530 (inclusive of local weighting and Statutory Monitoring Officer payment of £10,000pa)
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, permanent - Part-time working and job share may be considered
Location: Hertford
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 21 October 2019
Interviews and Assessment Centre: Tuesday 29 October

About the Role
We are looking for a qualified legal professional who is keen to offer support in grappling complex legal issues across a range of services and new ventures including setting up new companies, property investment and major town centre regeneration. As the council’s Monitoring Officer and Head of Legal and Democratic services teams, you will play a significant role in leading improvement in the council’s constitutional and decision making processes, providing expert advice and supporting councillors and colleagues, and challenging the status quo.
