Are you a HR professional, or in a management/supervisory role in the Health and Social Care sector?
Are you a passionate advocate of how the delivery of brilliant Human Resources support can add true value to an organisation?

If you have the talents to deliver those benefits, this is a career opportunity to match your ambitions.

First, a bit about us
St Andrew’s is the UK’s leading Mental Health charity with an excellent and well-deserved reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare, and a top 20 charity overall. We have a multi-disciplinary team of over 4,500 delivering world-class, innovative, holistic care across four hospital locations, with a number of exciting community projects in development.

All of our profits are re-invested into new services and new facilities. Today we proudly continue to build world-class mental healthcare services – with Europe’s largest adolescent unit opened recently. And because we’re independent, we have the flexibility to make a real difference. Joining us is your chance to make a big contribution to amazing work that is transforming the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable people.

What you need to know about this role
This generalist HR role will be based at the St Andrews Nottinghamshire IPU in Mansfield, with some travel expected to local community sites also required, as we continue to develop these in line with our transformation programme. You’ll report into the HR Business Partner to support the delivery of the HR and Operational strategy, providing a dynamic, customer focused and professional service across all aspects of operational HR to a service that runs 24 hours, seven days a week. The role will have a real focus on engagement and supporting our customers to transform service delivery through effective engagement of their people.

And a little more about you
You will have an enthusiastic, positive, collaborative approach, and work well as part of a small operational HR team, linking in with other St Andrews support teams as required. The ability to build effective relationships with all your HR colleagues and align yourself to your operational team is essential.

You will be able to work autonomously, and will deal with matters proactively and effectively to drive high performance standards and continuous improvement using your coaching skills where required.
You will have a good understanding of Employment Law and best practice employee relations. The role will provide practical support to managers on Employee Relations cases such as performance management, Absence, Disciplinary, Grievance, contractual guidance as well as change management processes. The role will also be involved in ad hoc project work to review and create effective employee engagement processes.

You’ll have the opportunity to liaise regularly with fellow operational HR professionals ensuring that you always operate within both St Andrew’s Policy and the UK Employment Law framework.

A CIPD qualification at Level 3 equivalent or above is desirable; however, the Charity is able to support the right candidate with this professional development.
