We are recruiting for Support Workers to join our team of professionals in Bury St Edmunds.

We have 2 services, Willows and Harmony, in the area and we support 12 people over the 2 services.

We are also looking for full time and part time Support Workers who can work a variation of the below shifts:

07:00-14:00, 07:00-14:30, 08:00-14:00, 09:00-14:00, 14:00-18:00, 14:00-21:30, 14:30-22:00.

In Willows we have 5 people we support (1 female and 4 males) who are aged between 20's - 70's and in Harmony we have 7 people we support (3 males and 4 females) who are aged between 20's - 60's.

Over the 2 services the people we support like going out into the community to go shopping, for lunch or a coffee, they also like going swimming and bowling and going to day centres. There is one gentleman who has a passion for aircraft's, and he likes to go to open air shows when possible.

As a Support Worker, you will be getting involved with all activities and tasks that the people we support wish to do. You will also assist with tasks around the home, which will include cooking and cleaning, arts and crafts and watching movies. You will encourage the individuals to keep their own personal spaces clean and tidy and promote independence for them to do as much for themselves as possible.
All of the people we support have a learning disability and there are some other health issues in these 2 services such as; epilepsy, dementia, diabetes and there can be some very challenging behaviour.

There will be personal care involved with all the people we support at Willows and Harmony and this will include assisting with showering, bathing, dressing, toileting and administering medication (full training is provided and fully paid for by Mencap).
