Experienced Support Worker for Outreach Service - Edinburgh

£9.82 an hour (part-time and full-time available)

Permanent - 30 days holiday per annum (public holidays inclusive)

SVQ training paid for

As an experienced support worker you will be undertaking personal care but also community engagement activities, befriending and carer respite for older people to stay independent in their own homes. The organisation focusses on meaningful engagement with older people rather than rushed personal care visits and offers a competitive rate of pay. This is an organisation that respects your work-life balance and does not demand excessive overtime from its staff as well as being committed to high standards and encouraging training.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of a dedicated team, you will provide the best quality care service, in order to support independence.
Deliver a personalised and responsive care service for clients and carers.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high quality person centred care: promoting social, physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing.
Liaise with the Service Co ordinator on all issues to do with client care and carer support.
Work with individual clients and carers assigned to you and implement and review care plans.
Ensure care plans, visit reports and risk assessments are recorded accurately.
Meet best practice standards of service delivery.
Delivery of care services for people with dementia or elderly people with physical or mental frailty. Homecare experience in the voluntary sector preferred.
An understanding of how to put principles of dignity, choice, independence, privacy, rights and fulfilment into practice in a care setting.
Engage in opportunities for continuous professional development.
