Brief Description            

The Commercial & Procurement team (C&P) comprises of QUANTITY SURVEYORS who work to support a variety of departments within Network Rail who maintain the Network Rail infrastructure.  The C&P team is responsible for providing well-thought and balanced commercial or procurement advice on a range of contract types, to colleagues across the business who may have varying degrees of commercial knowledge.

The Role 

Network Rail is seeking to employ suitably experienced QUANTITY SURVEYORS to support the Works Delivery (WD) team by providing timely, efficient and effective commercial advice on a wide range of commercial issues. The role will require business travel between various Network Rail locations and may require work in sometimes unsociable hours, weekends and nights attending live projects.

Brief Description

A suitably experienced QUANTITY SURVEYOR to provide pre and post contract commercial support to the delivery teams in accordance with the requirements of the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP).

About the role           

It is imperative you have…             

  • Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence decision making
  • An ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of construction industry forms of contract
  • Experience of managing projects

·        An excellent level of commercial awareness

·        Previous experience of working in a busy commercial environment

  • Experience in QUANTITY SURVEYING activities / commercial management.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in the Construction or Rail Industry.
  • Experience of Construction Industry and NR Suite of contract forms.

·        Ability to work to deadlines

·        Good problem-solving skills

·        Computer literacy including ability to utilise in-house and external software e.g. Oracle Projects, Microsoft Office Suite.

·        Experience of using electronic sourcing and/or procurement systems.

It is advantageous if you have…

·        Full Driving Licence

·        An understanding of the rail industry

·       An understanding of working with or having worked for a Railway Contractor

We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range:
