Job Details

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate or Vice President to join our Infrastructure Project and Principal team, and help build the Digital Infrastructure business within it. The role will combine typical investment banking tasks with principal investing, infrastructure development, and client interaction on Europe’s preeminent digital infrastructure transactions. We are looking for you to bring a background in digital infrastructure (particularly data centres, and/or fibre), from either an industry or investment banking/private equity background. The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen, numeracy capability and negotiation skills. Technical skills (e.g. from an engineering background), would be an advantage.

As part of the Infrastructure Projects team, you will structure, negotiate and close complex transactions (including debt, equity and hybrid structures) and commission and review due diligence materials to identify potential risks and value drivers. You will engage and lead due diligence advisors (legal, technical, tax & accounting) and prepare internal investment papers for equity and debt approvals, leading debt financial advisory work for external and internal clients

To be successful in this role, you will have 4-7 years+ industry or corporate finance experience in a relevant organisation with detailed knowledge of Digital Infrastructure markets, principles of financial analysis and valuation and financial modelling. In addition, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and excellent pre-university academic results. It is essential that you are fluent in both spoken and written English with a strong, general communication style and relationship building skills. Specific experience in Data Centers or a bachelors Engineering degree would be viewed favourably.

This is a key role within the team, where exceptional communication, organisational skills and the ability to perform in a demanding, fast paced environment will see you thrive. If you are entrepreneurial, professional, committed and proactive in your approach, we want to hear from you.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.
